Chris and his family moved to the Okanagan in Oct 2017 from rural Alberta. Having owned and operated a food truck in Alberta, he wanted to own one again in the Okanagan.
He was enthusiastic to bring Gelato to Naramata, and set out to Italy to learn how. Wanting to bring the best possible product he knew that the only way was to study from the masters themselves. Master Gelatician Chris continues to learn new skills and different techniques.
Navigating the region, Chris is still learning about the different varieties of fruits that are available and trying them all to see which offer the best flavour. So far he hasn’t gone wrong with any of them.
When not making Gelato you will find Chris hanging out with his family, playing with the dog, or at a fire call with the Naramata Fire Department.
Adrienne has a diverse background in Recreation, Economic Development, and Business. She greatly enjoys interacting with customers and talking about the community. Adrienne provides a bulk of the behind the scene’s work such as marketing, financials, and management of the day to day operations.
Adrienne enjoys assisting Chris with prepping the ingredients for the Gelato and learning about the great flavours in the Okanagan.
When not helping with Gelato you will find Adrienne helping with a variety of local not for profit groups such as the Naramata Parks and Recreation Commission, the Naramata Faire, and the Naramata Playschool.
Benjamin and Dominic are the official taste testers. They love to help dad make gelato and eagerly wait for the gelato to be finished so they can have a bowl full. Not a drop is wasted when they are around.
You will often see Ben and Dom assisting with sales and keeping mom & dad company.
When not making/eating gelato Ben and Dom are full of energy. They enjoy playing outside, gardening, and exploring the Okanagan.
The word Chabendo is a mix of all of our first names:

"“When you buy from a small local business you are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey. A mom and dad put food on the table, a family pay a mortgage, or a student pay for college. Our customers are our shareholders and they are the ones we strive to make happy.” Thank you for supporting small businesses.
